Doreen, I still think about you and know you are in a better place with your parents. I have so many wonderful memories of us growing up. The fun times in our neighborhood still are in the forefront of my mind.You will never be forgotten. I hope you get to watch Saturday Night Live, the great ones from the seventies every day! Since hearing of Doreen's death I have always intended to try to contact her family and extend my condolences. I'm grateful to have that opportunity now. Doreen and I were in 5th grade together and at one point her parents came over to our house a few times. So she and I had a chance to although only for a brief period of time have a lot of fun. I remember we played what we called Island of the Blue Dolphin, which is a book that our teacher was reading to us. It's about a girl stranded on an island and how she gets by. The creek next to my house was the perfect setting for the island. For whatever reason people gravitate to other people in high school and lose touch with each other which was the case between Doreen and I. Although I did see her one day long after we'd graduated and she seemed so happy she said that she was working in New York. She had the best smile. I will always remember her with fond thoughts and again I am very sorry for her families loss. Sincerely Lisa Camarda
